Facilitator Information: Yogi Patel founded "Yogi Patel - Transformation Through Empowerment, a Leadership," A leadership, Positive Discipline, and Montessori consultancy. She is a former Head of the school and a founder of Kinderhouse Montessori School. Her passion is educating and nurturing children and offering guidance to parents, administrators, and educators. Yogi offers Positive Discipline seminars and educational training to teachers, parents, and children of all ages. She specializes in whole-school management and supports schools in creating a cohesive community.
Before Yogi became a Certified Montessori Teacher, a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer, and a Master Trainer for Empowering People in the Workplace, she managed businesses. She led an employee training program for one of PepsiCo's restaurant chains. Yogi holds a Primary diploma from the Association Montessori Internationale training program and a degree in Early Childhood Administration. She founded her first Montessori School in 2001, later expanding to a second location in 2008. Yogi volunteers as an advisor to the Board of the Positive Discipline Association as an outreach coordinator and an education advisor to the Trunks and Leaves Board. She feels fulfilled helping children, and elderly members gain a sense of belonging and significance.
Workshop Description: This two-day interactive workshop is designed for teachers, counselors, school staff and administrators who want an effective discipline approach that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging student behaviors. Attendees will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator and will learn to:
- Develop a large teaching toolbox of kind and firm discipline approaches.
- Establish explicit classroom structures and procedures.
- Create an equitable classroom community based on mutual respect.
- Understand the motivation behind students' misbehavior and how to encourage positive change.
- Facilitate effective class meetings teaching social skills and problem-solving.
- Learn Positive Discipline/Adlerian Psychology for use in the classroom and school community.

Whether you attend one of our live workshops or participate in an online workshop, you may choose to earn 1 to 4 non-degree credits. Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop.
In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
