Facilitator Information: 

Dina Emser is a Certified Positive Discipline Lead Trainer and Professional Certified Coach with over 30 years of experience ineducation. She has taught every grade level, kindergarten through eighth grade, as well as college level students, teachers and parents. For ten years she served as the principal of an elementary/middle school whose staff incorporated Positive Discipline principles including classroom meetings. Dina works as a Professional Certified Coach and Educational Consultant with schools, businesses and individuals. Dina has presented at educational conferences in the U.S. and Canada for the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology and the National Association of Educators of Young Children. She has trained teachers and parents in Positive Discipline in 11 states and 10 counties on 4 continents. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Positive Discipline Association and is a Lead Trainer and member of their National and International Speakers Bureau.

 

Ines Oldenburg is a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer with over 15 years of experience using Positive Discipline in her classroom and as a parent. Ines has presented on Positive Discipline nationwide at conferences and has taught teachers and parents. She has coached parents and teachers for the past 10 years. Her experience in Nonviolent Communication served her well in these positions. Ines has been a consultant for Montessori teachers and worked in this position for different Montessori training centers. She is also a Certified Encouragement Consultant and Certified in Empowering People in the Workplace. Ines is a teacher at a Montessori school and serves as a board member for different non-profit organizations.

Participants in this workshop will:
1. Learn research based effective tools and techniques for teaching parents how to use discipline that is kind and firm at the same time (non-punitive, non-permissive).
2. Learn how to facilitate a parent class from the position of a non-expert.
3. Gain practice with experiential exercises that help parents go beyond intellectual understanding to be able to respond in empowering ways that teach children.

4. Learn how to use materials and activities in group settings, parenting classes and individual work with families.

Workshop Description: 

Teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way (developed by Lynn Lott and Jane Nelsen) is a research-based parent education program that provides a step-by-step approach to starting and leading experientially based parenting groups. This program stands alone or offers significant enhancement to any program. It provides experiential activities that reach the heart to inspire deeper understanding and change. 

Participants in this workshop will:

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop. 

In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
