Trainer Information: Yogi Patel is the founder of "Yogi Patel - Transformation Through Empowerment consultancy specializing in leadership training, Positive Discipline, and Montessori training for parents and teachers. With a background as a Certified Montessori Teacher, Certified Positive Discipline Trainer, and Master trainer for Empowering People in the workplace, Yogi is deeply committed to educating and nurturing children while guiding parents and educators. She works with the whole school implementing Positive Discipline to create a respectful community for high performance and results.
Before her work in education, Yogi gained experience managing businesses, including leading an employee training program for one of PepsiCo's restaurant chains. She holds a school administration degree and a Primary diploma from the Association Montessori Internationale training program in San Diego and established her first Montessori School. Over the years, she expanded her endeavors by opening a second location in 2008. Yogi actively contributes to various organizations as a volunteer. She serves as an outreach advisor to the Board of the Positive Discipline Association and an education advisor to the Trunks and Leaves Organization. Through her involvement, she aims to help children and elderly individuals develop a sense of belonging and significance.
Workshop Description:
This interactive on-line live and streamed video workshop is designed for parent educators, teachers, therapists, childcare professionals and others who want an effective discipline approach. This method is based on Adlerian Psychology and integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging behaviors. Successful participants will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and will:
- Learn research based and effective tools and techniques for teaching parents how to use discipline that is kind and firm at the same time (non-punitive, non-permissive)
- Learn how to facilitate a parent class from the position of a non-expert.
- Gain practice with experiential exercises that help parents go beyond intellectual understanding to be able to respond in empowering ways that teach children.
- Learn how to use materials and activities in group settings, parenting classes, and individual work with families.

Whether you attend one of our live workshops or participate in an online workshop, you may choose to earn 1 to 4 non-degree credits. Positive Discipline Association courses approved for Graduate-Level Semester Credits through University of the Pacific will appear on an Official Transcript with a letter grade.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop.
In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
