Facilitator Information: 
Jill Stansbury is an educational consultant from Blaine, Washington in the USA. For most of her 25-year career, she has worked in American and Chinese public and independent schools with young people (ages 2-18) and their families as a teacher, school administrator, and social and emotional learning specialist. Currently, she works with schools and school systems in the United States, China and Africa to implement whole school social and emotional learning initiatives. She holds an early elementary teaching certificate from the American Montessori Society, a master's degree in educational leadership from DePaul University in Chicago, IL, USA and is a Positive Discipline Association certified trainer. She is fascinated by the ways that schools acculturate students and enjoys sharing tools to help make classrooms and subsequently cultures places that work for us all! 

Paulina Cuevas Vega is from Chile
She has a psychology degree and a MA in Educational Psychology and PK-12 school counseling license from the University of Minnesota. She is a Certified Positive Discipline Lead Trainer and a member of Disciplina Positiva Chile team, and the Positive Discipline Association. 
She has 20 years of experience working as a School Counselor in local and international schools in the USA, Chile and China. 
Paulina has been implementing Positive Discipline herself in school settings, and in the community since 2011 in Chile, and since 2013 in China and the United States. 
She has vast professional experience in child development and vast personal experience living in different cultures. She speaks English, Spanish and Mandarin. In her life and work, she has always been passionate about achieving social justice through supporting and nurturing inclusive communities that ensure every child and every person develops a sense of belonging and significance that allows them to thrive. 
After living and spreading PD in China for 5 years, she joined Seattle Public Schools District as a school counselor, from 2018 to 2020. 
Since the pandemic closed traveling opportunities and in person trainings, she offers online Positive Discipline trainings and parenting classes for Chile and China.  In September 2021, she got her 200 hours certification to share yoga in inclusive, accessible and trauma informed ways. 
At the moment she lives with her husband in North Bend, WA. She continues to deepen her studies around Social Emotional development, mindfulness, trauma healing, yoga, and social justice through nurturing personal and community wellbeing.

Workshop Description:  

This is an online interactive and streamed video workshop designed for teachers, counselors, school staff and administrators who want an effective discipline approach that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging student behaviors. Attendees will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator and will learn to: 

  1. Develop a large teaching toolbox of kind and firm discipline approaches. 
  2. Establish explicit classroom structures and procedures. 
  3. Create an equitable classroom community based on mutual respect. 
  4. Understand the motivation behind students' misbehavior and how to encourage positive change. 
  5. Facilitate effective class meetings teaching social skills and problem-solving. 
  6. Learn Positive Discipline/Adlerian Psychology for use in the classroom and school community.

The Positive Discipline Association is pleased to provide the opportunity for educators to earn graduate-level university credit. Whether you attend one of our live workshops or participate in an online workshop, you may choose to earn 1 to 4 non-degree credits. These credits are for licensure renewal and salary step increases only. The cost of graduate-level credit is separate from the workshop registration fee. Click Here for more information.

Positive Discipline Association courses approved for Graduate-Level Semester Credits through University of the Pacific will appear on an Official Transcript with a letter grade.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop. 

In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
