Facilitator Information:

Lisa Herold is a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer who provides leadership training and consultation to schools. Over the past 30 years, Lisa has had the privilege of teaching at the primary, intermediate, and middle school levels in both the public and the private sectors. Her experience is diverse, ranging from teaching first-grade bilingual students in Houston to serving as a faculty member in the suburbs and the inner city of Chicago to serving as an administrator on the north side of Chicago. Lisa believes that connection is vital to student success and that connection begins with the adult community. Together, we create a culture of belonging and a community of learning, a place where adults and children thrive as they discover their infinite capabilities.

Workshop Description: This two-day interactive workshop is designed for teachers, counselors, school staff and administrators who want an effective discipline approach that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging student behaviors. Attendees will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator and will learn to:

  1. Develop a large teaching toolbox of kind and firm discipline approaches.
  2. Establish explicit classroom structures and procedures.
  3. Create an equitable classroom community based on mutual respect.
  4. Understand the motivation behind students' misbehavior and how to encourage positive change.
  5. Facilitate effective class meetings teaching social skills and problem-solving.
  6. Learn Positive Discipline/Adlerian Psychology for use in the classroom and school community.

Any of us face new behavior challenges as we navigate life with COVID – 19, and teachers and counselors may find themselves discouraged and depleted. This two-day interactive workshop is designed for teachers, counselors, school staff, and administrators who are looking to boost their energy, renew their love for working with children, increase connection with colleagues and students and learn new practical strategies. Positive Discipline is an effective discipline approach based on Adlerian Psychology, that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging student behaviors. Attendees will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educators.

Whether you attend one of our live workshops or participate in an online workshop, you may choose to earn 1 to 4 non-degree credits. Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop.

In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
