Facilitator Information: 

Jill Stansbury, MA and Certified Positive Discipline Trainer, is based out of Bellingham, WA, USA. For most of her 25-year career, she has worked in American and Chinese Montessori and project based public and independent schools with young people (ages 2-18) and their families as a teacher, coach, and school administrator. She is fascinated by the ways that neurology impacts communication, loves contemplating the family as the basic building block of culture, and enjoys sharing tools to help make families and subsequently cultures places that work for us all! 

Talin Yesaie, LMFT, CPDT is a licensed marriage and family therapist and Certified Positive Discipline Trainer who has been working in the San Diego, CA, USA for over 17 years by providing therapy to children, at-risk teens and families to meet their goals. In addition to private practice, Talin is the Program Manager at a Special Needs school for students with emotional and behavioral challenges. Her passion comes from her belief that all people, regardless of age are at their optimum best self when they feel a sense of belonging and significance, a core value of Positive Discipline. 

Workshop Description: 

This interactive on-line live and streamed video workshop is designed for parent educators, teachers, therapists, childcare professionals and others who want an effective discipline approach. This method is based on Adlerian Psychology and integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging behaviors. Successful participants will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and will:

  1. Learn research based and effective tools and techniques for teaching parents how to use discipline that is kind and firm at the same time (non-punitive, non-permissive)
  2. Learn how to facilitate a parent class from the position of a non-expert and gain practice with experiential exercises that help parents go beyond intellectual understanding to be able to respond in empowering ways that teach children.
  3. Learn how to use materials and activities in group settings, parenting classes and individual work with families.
  4. Develop an awareness of cross-cultural issues in parent education.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop. 

In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified by email.
