Parenting Class Description: As part of the Stephanie V. Blank Center for Child Protection Webinar series sponsored by Children´s Healthcare of Atlanta, Kelly Gfroerer, Ph.D. will present on how and why caregivers use Positive Discipline instead of punishment. Positive Discipline is a great way to encourage more acceptable behavior while showing a child how capable they are. These techniques teach children important social and life skills, such as independence, problem solving and communication. Throughout this presentation, participants will learn about effective long-term strategies and exercises that encourage mutual respect and understanding between a child and a caregiver.
Dr. Gfroerer serves as the Executive Director of the Positive Discipline Association. She is a Positive Discipline Certified Trainer and Parent Educator.
